New CallManager Express Configuration GUI
Cisco has finally released the CallManager Express configuration GUI as an official "beta" product. This was originally engineered by a Cisco employee as a sort of 'hack' to make CCME configuration easier. It looks like it became popular enough that Cisco adopted it as it's own product. Here's the email blurb I received this morning:
As part of the engineering program focused on providing continuous improvement in the ease of deployment and installation of CallManager Express, I am pleased to announce the availability of the Beta version of QCT (Quick Configuration Tool) v3.0. This software is available at the following CCO URL:
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cme-qct
The purpose of QCT is to provide a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to simplify and expedite the configuration of CME and CUE by reducing the level of familiarity with Cisco IOS CLI commands needed to deploy a CME/CUE telephony system. The new QCT features include the following:
- VT Advantage video telephony
- Integrated Messaging with CUE
- VoiceView Express with CUE
- SIP Trunk
- Simplified Phone Loads upload
- Class of Restriction
- FTP client to support upload of various CME file types including: MOH and Phone Loads
- Fractional T1/E1
- Pickup group / Enhanced intercom / Intercom with name list
- Template Creation
I use CCME to run my house (this is how nerdy I really am). I'm excited to use this tool to get some of the Outlook integration features that have been recently introduced!
