CCIE Wireless?

I just received a "general announcement" in my email about registering for the BETA CCIE Wireless written exam. Wow - yet another CCIE specialty arrives.

I got the same email. Upside, $300 less than the final version. Downside, strong probablility of RF math.

Jeremy,
dude what have you done to me?
i can no longer watch training videos from any one else.
they are just no where near as good as yours man.
i have seen many things good in the past but this the the first time that i have actually taken the time to write a feedback.
keep up the good work.
also i was wondering (seen as i cant watch any other trainer) are you planning on doing a video on gatekeeper and trouble shooting for CCVP?

Dude way too many CCIE Certs I think. Don't you think this sort of takes away from the luster that used to be a CCIE? I think it sort of does. Oh and the fact that being a CCIE now a days is not what it used to be. I'm preparing for my fist (RS) and I've interviewed many CCIEs and all I can say is wow. Make the test harder. Do you think its easy to cheat and people are paying for the CERT and I dont mean the price of the lab?

Any ways I'm glad I found your blog JC, dude I agree totally with the guy above too, I cannot stand to watch any other CBT Video if it's not yours. Keep up the good work man.

Thanks for your awesome support and guidelines.

(if you received the first please ignore this comment, i forgot to type cisco the first time :))

Once you pass the CCIE you may focus on only one area. For instance I know a guy as Cisco that has a CCIE but all he does is deal with BGP. He's probably rusty on the details of spanning tree though. Doesn't mean he cheated on his test or that it's not hard enough. I passed the R&S on my 2nd attempt and it was plenty hard. Just means whoever you interviewed didn't review before their interview. More certs that showcase a persons specific expertise can't be bad.

While that is true, that most people focus on one area and might be rusty. If you're rusty but someone start mentioning you can at least give the idea that you knew it or used to know it. some of these guys were dumbfounded by the questions. Like they had no idea... but i'm not saying certs are bad, they look good on paper, but prove it. we even gave some labs just incase, you know some people are nervous answering certain things. left them alone and then graded... and all i have to say is,,,,, OMG.. nothing hard, ccna type stuff... configure single area ospf here, dot1q stuff, maybe some tuning in spanning-tree. some questions to see if they new when to put in passive-interface... some BGP stuff cause it is a service provider position but nothing deep or extreme, just some neighbors to a loopback and stuff... and still nothing... so REAL talent is hard to find.

Thanks for your comment though... I dont want to put hard work down if they really deserve it and really worked hard at it... I'm just really surprised sometimes..
